Terms

The short, readable version.

Written to be understood, not to be impossible to argue with. Last updated 11 October 2026.

This site

Everything here describes services. It is not a binding offer.

Prices are not published on purpose. A figure for a job nobody has seen is a guess. A price becomes real when we give it to you for your job.

We try to keep every factual claim here accurate, the legal ones included, and we cite the section so you can check. None of it is legal advice. If your situation turns on a point of law, ask a lawyer, not a locksmith.

Brand names

We name lock brands on this site so you can tell what we work on. We are an independent locksmith. We are not affiliated with any of those manufacturers and they do not endorse us.

The work

Identification

We ask for photo ID and proof of your connection to the vehicle or property, every time, before opening anything. No ID, no work. This is not negotiable, and it is the whole reason a licensed locksmith is worth calling.

Quotes

You get a price or a range on the phone before a van is dispatched. If what we find on site changes it, the work stops and you hear the new number first. You can say no at that point. You pay the call-out and nothing more.

Damage

Our normal outcome is no damage. Where the only way in destroys the lock, you are told before, with the replacement cost, and you decide.

Warranty

Parts we supply carry their manufacturer's warranty. Our labor is warranted against our own error. Neither covers a lock later forced, a door that has dropped on its hinges, or hardware somebody else has since worked on.

What we will not do

  • Open anything for somebody who cannot show it is theirs.
  • Change the locks on an occupied rental without a court order executed by the sheriff.
  • Copy a restricted or patented key without written authorization from the system's owner.
  • Fit a double-cylinder deadbolt where the code or a local ordinance forbids it. Pacifica, for one, bans them outright.
  • Fit anything on an exit door that stops people getting out.

Payment and law

Payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing. We take cards and cash.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California.
